An integral part of Amador is the dances. There are eleven dances through out the school year: Aloha, Homecoming, Halloween, Pajama Jam, ABC Dance, Winter Ball, Sweethearts Dance, Sadie Hawkin's, Junior Prom, Senior Ball, and the End of the year dance. Each dance has its own special theme, for example for the Aloha dance every one puts on their hula skirts and hawaiin shirts, and dances the night away under mock palm trees and torch lights.
This years hawaiin dance had over 1,000 students in attendance the largest ever. There are four formal dances at Amador: Homecoming, Winter Ball, Junior Prom, and Senior Ball. Homeocming and Winter Ball are held in our large gymansium which is transformed into a classy ballroom for the evening. Juniors and Seniors get the special priveldege of having their formal dances off campus. Last year, Senior ball was held at the impressive Scottish Rite Temple in Oakland where almost all the seniors arrived in stretched limousines.
