Welcome to AVHS
Robotics Club... AVHS 'Botz

ALL SMILES at the 2001 AUV
competition ceremony. Holding their four thousand dollar second
place check we were feeling pretty good! From left to right, Jim
Bales, Rear Admiral Jay M. Cohen, AVHS Members - Nick Rapp, Daniel
Bryant, Karl Schulze, Chris Crutchfield, Nick Gurtler, and Chris
LaFlash, a kind Judge, and Daryl Davidson on the far right. We
are the Amador Valley High School Robotics club, dubbed AVHS 'Botz.
Our purpose is to explore the fields of engineering and technology
through the Collegiate International Autonomous Underwater Vehicle
Competition. This
Mission is very challenging, involving all aspects of today's latest
technologies. The Mission involves building an Autonomous Submarine.
That is a submarine that is capable of driving itself without any
human interaction, in order to complete a mission. Competitors
include MIT, Naval Academy, Cornell.... and Amador Valley High
School! We
competed in the 1999-2000 competition, placing 6th, the 2000-2001
competition, placing 2nd, and will be coming back in
full force to the 2001-2002 Competition going for the gold with the help of our proud
sponsors. Please
browse our website for more information.
